Well, it’s certainly turned into an interesting and unexpected week for Tottenham Hotspur fans. Blindsided by Tuesday evenings news of Mauricio Pochettino sacking, Wednesday morning saw the arrival of marmite ‘head coach’ Jose Mourinho and his new backroom staff.
With it being all change – and maybe off the pitch as well as Mourinho does not fit Daniel Levy’s normal checkboxes – ahead of the West Ham United game this weekend, there’s one more addition that a number of fans on social media would like to see and that’s Lille’s sporting Director, Luis Campos.
His name can’t only be new to me, but apparently we have made an approach for him, he’s already friends with Mourinho having worked with him at Real Madrid, and with success at Lille when it comes to gems like Rafael Leao, Nicolas Pepe and Zeki Celik, Campos was equally as influential at Monaco where he found the likes of Bernardo Silva, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Benjamin Mendy and Fabino.
He is clearly seen as a bit of a coup if we can get him, and the final piece in our new jigsaw.
How much it distances Mourinho from spending and Levy from spending decisions is open to debate, but there are certainly those who see it as another step towards our new head coach potentially looking to change his ways and reinvent himself somewhat.
It may be a great deal. It's an evolution of #thfc
